This is an educational kit on how to build some simple machines that can be operated with a basic controller to make cars move and other small inventions like making a crane lift small objects. This is an educational kit, so it will teach them some basics of small engineering tasks and is much more difficult than standard legos, so it is recommended that parents watch over the children as they work, but the instructions are basic enough to where many younger children (ages 7-9) could still put together many of the templates without any need of adult help. After they have been designed they can be played with for a while and taken apart just as easily so that they can continue to build new inventions and keep the fun going.
It only comes with three motors and six touch sensors, so you may want to buy more if you are going to be buying this for many children or have a child who wants to build many of the inventions at once. In total there are 182 parts with a 48 page booklet on how to build the templates which is good and teaches children to follow instructions, and will teach them how to build ten different models. Afterwards they can try and create their own small inventions to test themselves on creativity and problem solving.
